What has the river ever done for Bath? (from Roman times to the present)

SPEAKER: Dr Cathryn Spence

Dr Cathryn Spence is a museum professional, independent researcher, regularly lecturer and published writer. She is currently Head of Communications and Research at the American Museum in Britain and has previously worked at the National Portrait Gallery, V&A Museum and the Building of Bath Museum.

She is also an independent writer and researcher on Britainís architectural, cultural and social heritage and undertakes historic house and garden surveys for listed building applications and heritage organisations, such as the National Trust.

Cathrynís publications include: Obsession: John Wood and the Creation of Georgian Bath, Bath: City on Show, Bath in the Blitz, and Water, History, Style: Bath World Heritage Site as well as numerous articles for The Bath Magazine and journals such as The Georgian Group and Bath History. She is currently working on a new book on the history of Bath for The History Press.
