SPEAKER: Richard Bush

Our speaker today is Richard Bush who will give a talk on the German Occupation of the Channel Island of Guernsey. Richard was born in Guernsey during the war and his father was a senior officer in the St John Ambulance Brigade on the Island during the Occupation.
Richard has carried out extensive research into the Occupation and is a member of the Guernsey Branch of the Channel Islands Occupation Society.

This talk is illustrated with video clips, photographs and personal stories of some who endured the Occupation.
The talk covers the Evacuation in June 1940, the Occupation, Internment and Liberation in May 1945.

THE SPEAKER

Richard has been a member of St John Ambulance for twenty years, his commissioned service in the Royal Air Force included seven years as a senior lecturer at the Royal Air Force College Cranwell and he has twenty-five years experience as managing director of a business continuity management company, providing services which included the development and delivery of realistic disaster simulation exercises. He lives in Corston and is a member of the Rotary Club of Bath.
