We are a new group, formed after the Open Morning in October 2019. Our initial meetings are held in a member's home near Pulteney Bridge and the first book we read was 'My Ántonia' by Willa Cather.
In subsequent meetings we've discussed 'Huckleberry Finn', 'The Great Gatsby' and 'Age of Innocence' by Edith Wharton.
Our approach is to focus on what might be described as American classics in our initial sessions before moving to more modern American literature.
If you'd like to join us, please contact Betty, our convenor (contact details are in the members' newsletter).
