RECORDER 1 (Beginners)
Times by arrangement

This group is aimed at absolute beginners and those who've played a little and need a refresher. Sessions may be arranged for individuals or with others according to demand or experience. The aim is to integrate players into the Novices Ensemble, which is run by the same person, as soon as possible.

RECORDER 2 (Novice Ensemble)
11.00 am - Thursdays, twice monthly

This group meets at 11.00 for a sociable coffee and chat before playing music in two or three parts. Initially group members may play just one size of recorder, descant, treble or tenor, but are encouraged to try other sizes as they gain in confidence. The aim is to comfortably accommodate a range of abilities within the group, everyone making progress and most importantly to enjoy making music with friends.

RECORDER 3 (Intermediate Ensemble)

(photo of the group at the 2017 Open Day)

10.00 am - most Thursdays except U3A lecture days

We mainly play four-part music arranged for descant, treble, tenor and bass recorders. Members enjoy changing parts and play at least three sizes of recorder. The music ranges from renaissance to twentieth century and is about grades 4 & 5. Our sessions are friendly, fun and instructive with a sociable tea-break. We currently meet in the homes of three different members so we have to limit the size of the group. We car share if possible.

If you are interested in any of these groups, please see the Schedule of Groups in the U3A Newsletter for contact details.
