10.15 - Every Monday

Members can please themselves what they do in our sessions, whether it be painting in oils, pastels, watercolours, line drawing or whatever. Usually, someone brings in some object or a photograph, or offers themselves as a model. Members can then choose to have a go at this or maybe continue to work on what they were doing the previous week, or indeed, do something else.

Occasionally, we get in someone to guide us for a session.

10.00 to 12.00 - Every Monday, September to April (Autumn and Spring terms only, no meetings in the Summer)
Venue: St. Mary's Church, Bathwick.

Art Workshop II meetings will recommence on 11th September 2017

Our group currently has about 16 members. Until recently, we were organised as two distinctsections; one was a life drawing group while there was a separate group of self-help members working in various mediasuch as water colours, acrylics, oils and pastels.

FromSeptember2016 weintroduced some integration by inviting a guest model to sit for members fromboth groupsfor life drawing / painting on 3 occasions in the Autumn Term.

We meet in a large hall at St. Mary's Church, Bathwick. We currently each pay 30 per term towards Church rent charges.

We meet during Spring and Autumn Terms of 12 weeks per term on Monday mornings from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon. (There are no official meetings during the Summer months, April to August, although some members have tended to get together privately).

If you are interested in joining our group, contact details are in the U3A monthly Newsletter.

9.45 - Every Monday

Art Workshop III meets on Monday mornings at the Odd Down Community Centre, and new members are always welcome.

We use a variety of mediums and each person works on their own projects, using their favoured medium. We are a friendly group and offer each other support and advice where it is wanted!

From time to time we have a visiting tutor, covering a range of subjects. Our next tutor led session will be on Chinese Brush Art..

10.00am - Every Friday

Art Group IV is a self help group which commenced some years ago as a beginners art class. The group is a democratic body whose duties are shared between members. Each term a different theme is agreed (e.g. winter landscape, skies) supplemented by three visiting experienced tutors. They provide us with new techniques, challenges, advice and support. There is no obligation to keep to the planned programme and students are free to follow their own inclinations/talents. The group generally uses the following media: water colour, gouache, pastels, charcoal, pencil (but not oils). There are three terms of ten weeks.
